Quantity surveyors must have the ability to understand construction plans. Must have knowledge in multiple disciplines not limited to Civils, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Buildings. Have excellent communication skills in order to communicate both with the workers, contractors and with clients. Must be able to use cost estimation software and SAP/Eztrac/Mile-marker systems. Must be able to do fiscal quantity take-offs in the field and on drawings. Must have the ability to listen and fully understand the expectations of the clients. Must also have planning, time management, prioritization, multi-tasking and documentation skills. |
